Marcie,
North Tonawanda:
In response to Edward of North Tonawanda regarding Wal-Mart. I've lived here
for about 30 years and appreciate the quiet community that it is and everything
about my community. I don't appreciate Wal-Mart coming in. I don't know what
people think Wal-Mart will bring. I'm hoping it will bring tax cuts, but for
some reason I just think it's dangling the carrot in front of the rabbit. I'm
tired of people like Edward and the ignorant statements they make. Many people
oppose Wal-Mart, but we have to face facts, it's a done deal. It was done
without the knowledge of most people, but we're tired of fighting.
Verna,
North Tonawanda:
Why wouldn't Lumber City Liaisons for Wal-Mart be supported by Wal-Mart? I am
sure they appreciate the time and energy the Lumber City Liaisons have
volunteered keeping their neighbors updated on the progress of the Wal-Mart
project and representing the majority of taxpayers from North Tonawanda at the
Planning Commission and Common Council meetings. The opponents of Wal-Mart are
funded by local businessmen. So what's the difference? The difference is that
Wal-Mart is up front and honest, whereas the opponents have been secretive.
It's high time they reveal the source of their funding.
