Printing Processes
Sheetfed printing is the process that feeds individual sheets of paper through a set of rollers. The rollers, with printing plates attached to them, contain an image or text that is transferred to a rubber roller, then onto paper with use of ink. This type of printing is used for flyers, menus, brochures, placemats, invoices, envelopes, letterhead, business cards, raffle tickets, personalized note pads, etc.
Web printing is the process that feeds a roll of paper through a set of rollers. The rollers, with printing plates attached to them, contain an image or text that is transferred to a rubber roller, then onto paper with use of ink dot. Each ink dot is one of four colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK) - making up all possible colors. By traveling through the press from roller to roller, a full color image is created. This type of printing is used for the printing of newspapers, retail inserts, magazines, and other large print runs.
